Who we are
I’ve spent my career championing the power of arts education — as a classroom teacher, a statewide arts leader, a mentor, and an advocate. I believe in the magic of putting a paintbrush in someone’s hand and watching them light up with possibility. But over time, I saw how systems too often dim that magic — for students and for educators.
Leaving the classroom wasn’t easy. Teaching has shaped me, stretched me, and grounded me. But I was ready to create something new — a space where curiosity thrives, where bravery is celebrated, and where people of all ages can reconnect with their creative spark.
That’s what Wild at heART is. It’s a studio, a boutique, a classroom, a gathering place — all rooted in the belief that making art makes us more human. I’m still an educator, through and through. But now, I teach beyond the boundaries of bell schedules and benchmarks. I teach in the wild.
